Art Exhibition: Dominic Beyeler
04 September - 31 October 2026
I don’t paint portraits to depict people as accurately as possible. I’m interested in the moment when a person’s personality becomes visible. My works emerge intuitively, but are based on a clear vision. Before I paint, I engage deeply with my subject. This preparation gives me the freedom to react spontaneously on the canvas. Because for me, the most exciting image often begins where control ends. I’m not drawn to perfection, but to vitality. I want to create images that leave room for the viewer’s own thoughts—images that invite the viewer to discover personality behind a face.
